My vacation this year is the summer spent at my NC home onthe canal in New Bern. I try to spend as much time there as possible since we bought it in 2021 but it wasnt until this summer that I could spend a significant amount of time there. While sitting on my deck one evening, this glorious sailboat passed by as they were taking the sails down. I was so enchanted, I snapped a photo and used it as a reference for the painting "Safe Harbour" I have since found out that the boat belongs to a couple about 3 streets over and is named "Two Peas". This happened in front of my glassed in studio so I was able to paint most of the painting aka Plein Air but relied on the photo for the image of the boat.
